Who Will Be The Next Muhammad Ali On May 2?

By Alon Calinao Dy: Fight fans originally knew that "The Fight of the Century" belonged to Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier when they'd their first meeting in 1971. Ali and Frazier fought with all their hearts that made "The Thrilla in Manila" an all-time successful event.

Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, have the much-anticipated fight on May 2, who will be the winner of this bout and be named as "The Next Muhammad Ali" of the new era?

Flomos say it is Mayweather because he is undefeated boxer and a whiz in the ring, but Pactards know that the Filipino boxing champ will give the American boxer his first loss.

It is less than a month that we are going to watch these elite boxers in the boxing stadium. It is obvious that the excitement is all over in Las Vegas. Boxing fans want to be part of this history. The new champ of the century will be named between Pacquiao and Mayweather.

Mayweather is really serious and quiet for this fight. It is unusual for Mayweather to act like this as I have known him who has a flamboyant character. This proves that a fight against Pacquiao is the hardest battle that he will encounter for his entire career.

On the other hand, Pacquiao, who has tasted loses and has 57 wins, believes that he is in top condition and can fight Mayweather anytime he wants to. Although the greatest pressure is in Mayweather, the eight-division world champion knows that if he wins this richest fight in history, he can retire as one of the all-time greats in boxing.

Yet, it's hard to predict who will win this competition when you have two pound-for-pound kings in the ring fighting for one crown. Whoever wins or loses in this dream match, the best thing that happens in boxing is to see them fight. Thus, everyone is a winner.

Rumors Say Alex Ariza is A Spy

By Alon Calinao Dy: Pacquiao’s previous strength and conditioning coach, Alex Ariza, has been named as a spy by the fans of Filipino boxing champ since he is moving from one camp to another against Pacquiao.

In a recent comment on Facebook, a loyal supporter of Pacquiao said that Ariza has been studying Pacquiao over the years because from the very start he knew that the Mayweather - Pacquiao fight would happen.

In my impression, I don't think Alex Ariza is a spy. I don't care whether he is a spy or not because boxing is a business and anyone can hire a professional conditioning coach as long as you have money to pay for the services of the trainer.

For All I know Ariza left the team because he had a fight against Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach. Perhaps, Mayweather has a slight advantage over Pacquiao for having Ariza on his camp, but it does not change a situation that this is a game of techniques and pure skills between the two best boxers in the world.

It is true that Ariza worked with Pacquiao and Roach for 5 years before Mayweather hired him in 2014. Despite of this, Puerto Rican professional boxer and WBC & The Ring World Middleweight Champion, Miguel Cotto, believed that Roach has a master plan to defeat Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Since Cotto fought these two fighters before, I've got a feeling that he might telling us the truth. Roach is a secret weapon of Manny Pacquiao to beat Mayweather. But I guess Mayweather has a secret weapon, too. Let's all see on May 2.

Amir Khan Versus Chris Algieri on May 30

Amir Khan versus Chris Algieri
By Alon Calinao Dy: Amir Khan (30-1, 19 KOs), who is willing to fight Brook, has another bout against a former opponent of Manny Pacquiao and  WBO light welterweight champion Chris Algieri (20-1, 8 KOs) on May 30th in New York.  It's unclear where the venue of the fight is.

We have heard Khan who wants to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, the big names in boxing. I am sure before their match people know the winner between Mayweather and Pacquiao, and if Khan beats Algieri, can challenge the victor of this contest.

Algieri is a tough opponent when he did not quit over Pacquiao relentless attacks. He went up from several knockdowns when hard punches hit him. He holds a heart of a fearless warrior since he beat Ruslan Provodnikov, who also has amazing skills and powerful punches.

Khan has an impressive speed, but in the middle of the round I'm not sure if he can maintain that power he has. Mayweather and Pacquiao are beasts, and they become more aggressive as they get hit.

I would give Khan an advantage over Algieri, but as I said Algieri is as hard as nails. If the bout will go in a distance, it is the chance of Algieri to defeat Khan as the Briton boxer slowly fades when the fight taking longer.

I think Khan now underestimates Chris Algieri. I believe Algieri is a tougher rival than the likes of Danny Garcia, Marcos Maidana, Kell Brook, Keith Thurman, and Lucas Matthysse. So be careful, Mr. Khan. Don't take this competitor lightly.

Who Will Win On May 2, 2015: Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather Jr?

By Alon Calinao Dy: Manny Pacquiao (57-5-2, 38 KOs) has been outspoken about his interest Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26 KOs) over the last 6 years. At times people lose hope that they will see these boxers face another.

Mayweather tried to avoid fighting Pacquiao because he did not want Mr. Bob Arum personally. He fought quality fighters like Jose Luis Castillo, Miguel Cotto and Marcos Maidana and won by a close decision.

He also defeated Marquez and the Mexican warrior said that Mayweather is going to beat Pacquiao. However, Cotto said Pacquiao will defeat Mayweather because trainer Freddie Roach has a set of techniques and styles that will surprise the unbeaten American.

Hall of Fame trainer Nacho Beristain believed that this fight is too risky for Mayweather. He has never fought someone like Pacquiao before who has stamina and strength along with foot-speed and hand-speed.

Although Pacquiao is confident for this bout, Mayweather is a true legend who has a perfect record. Many boxers have tried to crush him, but they are all disappointed when Mayweather schooled them.

In fact Mayweather is unusually still for his flamboyant character and is very serious about this biggest match of his entire career. He recognizes that if he beats Pacquiao, he will be remembered as one of the greatest fighters in boxing history.

Both Pacquiao and Mayweather are real legendary boxers, and whoever wins on May 2 will be proclaimed as the best boxer of our generation today.

As a boxing analyst, it is hard to predict who will be the victor of this competition. But I think the Filipino boxing champion will win by a close margin if ringside judges will do their task properly.
